Press Release // High Point Aerotech Demonstrates Against Swarms and Dark UAS for DHS and OSU

High Point Aerotechnologies successfully demonstrated detection of multiple swarm and “dark” uncrewed autonomous system (UAS) scenarios in a testing event organized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and Oklahoma State University’s CUAS Center of Excellence.

The demonstration showcased High Point’s Sawtooth system and its ability to detect multiple simultaneous threats across various ranges, altitudes, and speeds, and underscored the versatility of the system to meet the challenges posed by UAS-based threats to government and commercial customers globally.

Historically, swarms and low-RF-emitting UAS (sometimes called “dark” drones) – have been difficult to detect by conventional counter-UAS solutions. These unique drones require unique solutions, with High Point Aerotech’s Sawtooth providing a multi-layered capability to detect, track, and mitigate multiple tracks simultaneously.

Al White, Chief Executive Officer of High Point Aerotech, highlighted the value of this event.

“We are grateful for the efforts of Oklahoma State University and DHS S&T to create such an innovative test environment. This event was unique in that it created the opportunity for the industry to conduct real-world demonstrations of our ability to rapidly develop and deploy critical UAS defense solutions to our federal and civilian customers. We look forward to building on our strong partnership with OSU going forward.”
